For some reason it was hard to find a suitable die for Laurie's technique. Choosing a stencil was easy and I knew that I wanted to make something bright and cheerful so I used a rainbow array of pigment inks to blend over my stencil. Finally I took a Smile word die and added a stitched rectangle around it so that I would be able to create a window for my first card.
Maybe because my stenciled background was large and striped, the second card seemed really hard to read.
I ended up using my bottom two inks to blend a panel that I used to cut out the word. Because the negative space was popped up on fun foam, I recessed the newly die cut word and glued it in place. I think it's easier to read although this card is still not my favorite.
So colorful and pretty!
