Day 4

I love Julie Ebersole :) I've followed her for years and think she's a hoot. Her video for Day 4 has endless possibilities and fortunately I have a good number of stamp and die sets. 

Today I chose the MFT set- Birdie Brown Rain or Shine - from a couple of years ago. For reasons now unknown to me I had cut apart the sentiment, and it was a trick trying to line those little words back up. Whose idea was it to cut apart sentiments anyway?!? Anyhow the reassembled sentiment seemed appropriate for our current stay-at-home situation.

Instead of using colored pencils (except for coloring my puddles), I used alcohol markers to color my images, die cut them, and attach them to the card so that the bleed through wouldn't show.

Raindrops are stenciled on the front and layers of clouds are lightly stenciled on the inside.

Sunny days are ahead!!!

Day 3

As soon as I watched Yana's Day 3 video, I knew that I wanted to use patterned paper for this technique. The background stamp that I used was Simon Says Flora Background (which I bought after watching one of Yana's YouTube videos) and the papers I stamped on were from the Bo Bunny Early Bird Collection. This was my favorite technique so far!

Day 2

I used the Altenew Peony Bouquet stamp set and several pink and yellow inks to make today's 2 for 1 cards. I added the large layered peony image (stamped and cut out with the matching die) to one of the cards to give it some dimension.  The top card's color doesn't read accurately because the orangey looking die cut flower is actually shades of mauve and pink:)

Day 1

 This is the original piece that was stamped and embossed with white embossing powder ten times.

This is the embossed piece that was dry embossed from the original piece.

Both cards were further embellished with Nuvo Drops and Stickles and a sentiment.

DAY 1

I used the Julie Ebersole stamp set Bokeh Dots to create the design for my embossed background that then became an "embossing plate".

I didn't get a very deep impression from the "embossing plate" but proceeded to use Distress Oxides (Pink Lipstick and Picked Raspberry) to blend over the piece, Because it was quite flat and blah, I added pink and white Nuvo Drops and pink Stickles dots and then a sentiment.

The original "embossing plate" I turned into my second card. I blended Distress inks (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, and Peacock Feathers) over the white embossing and added dots of sparkly aqua and white Nuvo Drops to create some texture and zip.
